Without a wifi bridge, communication with your smartphone will be done locally via Bluetooth. For remote control, when you are not at home, the wifi bridge is essential.

THE TEDEE also offers an optional battery-powered digicode that allows caregivers to whom you have given the code to return home, even without a smartphone. Of course you can change this code at any time.
The Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 connected lock is the latest generation of a proven series. This new generation, in its most expensive version, includes a rechargeable battery and built-in wifi.
In its basic version, only Bluetooth allows communication with your smartphone locally and you will need to add a set of 4x AA batteries. The upgrade is however possible by adding a separate wifi bridge and a rechargeable battery.
If you already have a disengageable cylinder on your door (which can be operated with a key even if another key is already inserted in the barrel on the other side), the Nuki Smart Lock will turn a key that you will leave permanently on the inside. Otherwise, you must plan to replace your cylinder.
